Miss Eva Elizabeth is asleep on my chest as I write this...She is comfortable in what we call the 'curled back marsupial' pose. She is a wonderful snuggler, and makes all sorts of entertaining little grunts and groans.
Since our last post, Eva had her 2 month doctor's visit. She measured in the 97th percentile in height and off the charts in weight (a whopping 15 lbs). Her first immunizations were a bit traumatic, a shot in each leg. She cried...I cried...But I found comfort in the knowledge that I'd done all I could to plump up those thunder thighs to pad the needle.
Eva now rolls often from her tummy to her back, smiles with an open mouth when sung to, has an excited, heavy-breath giggle, and is learning to stand on her daddy's lap. She continues to be fascinated by the movements of her tongue and the wiggling of her hands.
These photos capture her first meeting with Aunt Jenny and Cousin Kate Stromberg. A visit from her first Darger cousin Peterson, and a visit to her Deans cousin Georgia. Also a trip to Bridal Veil Falls with our dear friends the Duffys.
Throughout the last 11 weeks I don't know how many times I've thought to myself....this must be the best part. But again, with a soft baby girl sleeping on my chest I think, this must be the best part.
