F.S. EN EL CAMPO DE ARGENTINA

APERITIVOS

Empanadas
Found on the elitist of menus, at bakeries and delis on every urban corner, delivered to hotel rooms, board rooms and game rooms for lunch & late night snacks, under fry lamps in convenience stations, and in their most spectacular form, rolled on kitchen counters across Argentina. Their content combinations are endless with Carne and Roquefort serving standard. The art crimping, each pattern revealing secrets contained.

de Carne. hand cut sirloin, olives, egg, roasted peppers and a paprika blend.
de Roquefort. the sharpest of cheeses mellowed in flakey crust.

Provoleta Rellena
A rich, cow’s milk provolone cheese stuffed with smokyz roasted peppers, sweet tomatoes, and salty shaved prosciutto topped with oregano, baked and then broiled.

Birthday Boy. Birthday Brunch. Birthday Boat. Birthday Ball and Touchdown Treats

Logan is 30.
Birthday Boy and his Birthday Babes
Birthday Brunch
Birthday Ball
and a Boat trip across the Bay

Touchdown Treats
Logan has captained a new effort to turn pigskin viewing into quality father daughter time with the introduction of a new game offering jelly beans each time the ____ (fill in jersey color here) team takes the football into the endzone. Eva wakes every Saturday morning chanting ‘Touchdown treats, Touchdown treats’ and can’t wait to snuggle into the couch to cheer on the blue team next to her ever so happy Daddy.

Jane Esther. 14 months

Jane Esther.
Walks.
Flashes a wide mouth grin to every stranger we pass,
Stretches both fleshy arms to the sky to signal excitement,
Claps with the hoards at a Cardinal touchdown –a successful toddle – a delicious bite,
Still demands a fair amount of alone time,
Reaches for the object of her desire with a double open-close-open fisted signal wave,
Escapes outside at every opportunity,
Says dada, mamama, ehba,
Gives a darling nose wrinkled heavy sniff muskrat kiss,
and (with the striking realism of her pterodactyl screech) is a total public liability.

Like a blackberry bush the sweetest, juiciest, plumpest, most perfect pieces of Jane Esther are found when you patiently push past a prickly patch of exhausted desperation and fuss to the loopy, smiley, soft, snugly, babbling babe waiting just on the other side of a comforting taste of thumb.

Feast of Spain

Although so very great with child, Ana and Tom created an incredible evening of Spanish feasting. Plentiful savory tapas, fruited sangria, gazpacho, and an unbelievable paella.

The erruption of Mt. McDonavous

When we received the invitation to witness the explosion of Mt. McDonavous (a McDonald family paper mache project) we had only one question....
Do you need a human sacrifice?
To the tribal rhythm of 20 toddlers with clenched fists chanting 'lava, lava' the volcano (complete with dinosaurs, trucks, tourists, b-movie sized monster bugs, and foliage) erupted! While the vinegar and baking soda bubbled, we all enjoyed Anne's fabulous chocolate crater cake with raspberry fire sauce and then washed our hands with... lava soap of course.

Camp

For our first campout with the girlies, we joined our expert friends, packed our car to the gills with gear, and lost our keys.
After transferring a mountain of gear to the other car, we headed to Mt. Diablo, Devil's Mountain, Home of the devil... Hell, on the hottest day of the year, the whole drive questioning our judgement.

We hiked, we roasted, we dutch ovened, we sang, we laughed, we slept (very little.)
A GRAND time was had by all!

The Dirty Deans at Sundown
The Santee Dog - wrapped in crispy bacon, roasted on an open flame, slathered in grilled onions, peppers, and guacamole. Absolutely unbeatable....the perfected state of hot dog.

Milk mustache? no, Dirt Beard.
