My day began with:
-crepes (Ev's contribution)
-An ice cream Sunday w raspberries (JE's contribution) and
-the feeling of a full night's sleep (selfless Carv's contribution).
Ev presented me with a scallop-bordered and ribboned menu (hasn't fallen far from the tree - I know), some poetry, an original song 'mom is not for sale' complete with a crescendo on the final 'seeeEEEELL' as the e's get bigger, and a convenient pouch to hold the two things I lose most often, keys and phone.
What a morning... Happy to mother these loves.

Mothers Day Merriment
A spectacular picnic presented by dads featuring salmon that was swimming the day before, a touching (well at least wigged) musical selection of Willy Nelson's 'it's mother's day', a dozen personalized carmel apple pies, and glass bottled orange Fanta. A finale of the best mother's day on record.
Hungry for a snack
How lucky am I to be woken from a nap with a scrumptious homemade snack!
A smoothie made of go-gurt & water, topped with whipped cream, garnished with lime and a licorice straw? Clearly this chef is destined for culinary brilliance!

Camp Birthday
We woke Monday morning feeling like an adventure, so we headed for the hills to surprise Ev with 'camp birthday'
Tents, hikes, fires, creeks, songs, some slight confusion about using the restroom in the woods, and a full nights sleep for all five of us.
Highlights include contributions from the girlies to a rule list for staying safe in the woods...
'checkpoint three - don't watch the bear-fight.'
'checkpoint eleven - if you leave the tent at night, the bears will smell you and think you're food.'
Very helpful, thanks girls.

Team Fuego
Team Fuego seems quite pleased with themselves. Have built a real roarer we commenced to roasting dogs, s'mores, chocolate stuffed bananas and even cinnamon rolls over the perfect coals.
A crusade of sorts
Since our trek to the mountains, Ev's out to educate. Bats, you see, are simply misunderstood. They eat Mosquitos you know.
The Coveted Hourglass
Yes that's a ball of Kleenex stuffed down her pajama top.
When I asked why (thinking surely age 3 is much too young to be concerned with cup size) how relieved i was to learn that it was a 'puff' (meaning princess sleeve puff - clearly meant for the shoulder, and quite accidentally slipped to the chest). Swoosh - so glad my biggest problems with said 'puffs' are piles of balled up wasted toilet paper strewn about the living room rather than the troubled body image of a toddler... Yes, this one's clearly quite pleased with her physique.

Pets on Parade
Toddlers toting hamsters strapped in teeny strollers, teens in matching tank tops trailing turtles in wagons, marching bands playing 'How much is that doggie in the window' and 'teddy bear picnic' and the Beagle Brigade. Caged parrots, pom-pommed ponies, poodles - and of course us -- the near-rabid cheering fans. We love the annual Pet Parade Party!

Proud of our Pig
We cheered, we clapped, we laughed, we cried as Eva (momma pig) opened the show sending her six little piglets into the big big world with an - ahem -solo that would dazzle even the most discerning critic of the kinder-swine-stage...
