A little birdie told me...

Hop a bit closer...let me whisper in your ear,
Taryn is flying in for the weekend, so lets gather the flock to shower her
(and the first petite Miss Merkley due in June) in surprise fashion!

Bring your wee birdies to play and to brunch,
We'll catch up, we'll giggle, we'll gift and munch.
Wear your spring feathers, bring something to share.
And button your beaks, not a secret to spare.

Meet at the Birdbath
Friday *10.15am, Surprise at half past.

Do chirp back and say you'll come!
Soon,
a little bird
*feeling feather brained...tweet if I've forgotten a friend!

Because She's Two

Not that she actually reads...or uses the loo.
But yes, this is one of her proudest perches.

It's decided...She is officially a butter-licker. With too many quiet consecutive, unsupervised moments (of which there have been plenty as of late) I always know where I’ll find her - topless, shiny and basted from head to toe with a smooth, cool stick in each fist and a yellow, greasy grin, sitting on her well-oiled throne of the leather couch. Oh well, like so many other challenges of parenting an active and adventurous two-year-old, this too can be fixed with a bubble bath and thorough hose down using the detachable shower handle!

Just like the giant in Jack & the Beanstalk, Jane Esther threatens, 'Fee High Hum.'
And if that's not scary enough - She'll even wave a wand and 'Spell you into a toad.'

She loves to tuck me in for a nap and leave the door open a 'yiddle cwack.'
She prefers the color 'lellow' and starts most sentences with 'at-chually.'
And we love her up to the sky.

When the relatives came...

To play beauty parlor.
To walk with Rodin's Walking Man

To grace the royal princess staircase at the Cantor Arts Center again...and again.

And of course to apply plenty of lipstick!

When the relatives came...

To hunt for pine cones
To brave the windy beach

To snuggle with fabulous, fat Phebe May

And dine with dear cousins!

Burgers, Buddies and Bonding

The Evertons back for a visit...a lovely excuse to be together with the gang.
The mums.
The pops.

And our very stylized, very posed little friends.

An invitation...

Some engraved, some embossed, calligraphy is lovely.
Eva simply asked me to text this photo to a specific list of friends...
Translated:
'I love you so I want you to come to my wedding.'
When I inquired about the groom, Eva explained why she'd chosen four. 'That way, there will always be someone around when I want them...' Most of the reasons included something like, 'And Lukie because he's five and has that musical puppy pull toy.'
...Yep, it was that puppy toy that put me over the edge with Logan too.

And a wedding ring? 'No, just these bobbly bracelets I'm making.'
