Eva's Monkey Feet
Eva (part human and part whooping gibbon) has learned to use her feet to grasp anything that her hands don't have room to hold, or accidentally drop. This comes in especially handy in the car seat, where the drop is a long one. So she uses her crossed monkey feet to perch a book she's reading, catch a toy she doesn't want to drop, or hold on to a sippy cup, like in this photo so she can use both hands to play with the plastic yellow chicken wearing pink and white striped socks. So brilliant!
Fabulous 'catch up' luncheon with Beloved Mimi and Auntie Camille CopseyEveryone that is...except for Eva
Or maybe even grumpy...
And definitely disinterested...
Finally she just gave up and pooped out.

Eva 's dip in the lake
Mmmm...the first taste of sand...so exfoliating.
Sharing rocks...Delicious.

Eva's new buddy
Yep, he's still there.
She's quickly figured out the appropriate doting reaction to any move he makes...'Oh, He's so cute!'

Peach Pie Celebration
Its Peach Season! Five years ago in August I made my first peach pie for Jay Omer, the head strength and conditioning coach for the BYU Football team. He had just moved from Georgia Tech and his family hadn't made it to Utah yet. I thought a peach pie would be a welcome taste of home (and might warm him up to my handsome running back husband). Although Logan wasn't thrilled with the idea of walking into the weight room on the first day of fall camp with a sissy pie in his hands, my plan worked! Between the annual August pie and his work ethic, Logan quickly buffed his way to the top of Omer's favorites list.
Thanks Coach, for Logan's hard bod and this peach pie discovery.

The Big Day!
The Last Supper
Marnie's final culinary masterpiece before giving birth to beautiful Marion Arthur Carrington was a gorgeous BBQ Chicken Pizza (notice the golden brown crust hand tossed by Logan 'Man Hands' Deans.)
Eva's first movie going experience rivaled that of her curly haired cousin, Little Orphan Annie. We left the singing and dancing cast of servants at the house so Logan and I hummed the tune 'Lets go to the movies...Lets go see the show' in her ear as we walked past the eccentric woman wearing purple lipstick who took our tickets and the crews of pubescent teens hawking concessions. She loved the stadium seats and especially the cup holders that swing up and down. Eva sat absolutely riveted watching the singing and dancing popcorn and coke cups on the big screen. She endured her first theater experience with grace, only having to leave the theater once or twice. The choice for this big event and my favorite film since Dream Girls...HAIRSPRAY
