Easter Morning

As if topless in bunny goggles wasn't enough, Ev opted to add the bejeweled cat eyes overtop,
coining her new look:
'The double double.'

Fortunately we were able to sway this fashionista toward a more formal frock for church.
In our time honored tradition of Cascarones, our baskets boasted confetti filled eggs to smash over the heads of the ones we love. Green grass, dark chocolate, colorful confetti flying, and gleeful giggles from the girls.

Easter Brunching

Easter morn at the Nash-Webbers' brought brunch, b-school buddies, and oh so darling babes in smocked bubbles, peter pan collars and scalloped petticoats.

Easter Feasting

A new tradition since our move to Northern California is Easter dinner with the Petersons in San Jose. Turkey vultures nesting in nearby trees, lizards sunning, deer wandering, dinner delighting, dozens, dozens and dozens of hand dyed hard boiled eggs, and crazy cousins in triplicate together.

Pre Easter Brunching

A rainy Easter weekend brought green grassy traditions indoors. Seersucker, feather head foofs, brunch, buddies, candy-candy-candy, and....disco fingers?
No bother - The Beekmans boasted a hugely harrowing hunt, with eggs suction cupped to nearly
every surface!

Bunnies

Easter Morning was met by hippity hop happy Bunnies

The appropriate conclusion here is NOT:
‘Wow, clearly JE prefers to be held by her daddy who must be hysterically funny and fun to be with…'
While true, the appropriate conclusion IS:
‘Wow, Em really knows how to make JE smile, she must have a great connection with her daughter and be really hysterically funny to elicit such a happy response while snapping this photo. She must not be pictured becuase of her selfless desire to capture these moments for the ones she loves.'

That and perhaps she does her hair and make-up on the way to church.
Love these bunnies even more than the dark, dark bittersweet kind.

Misschievous... Missunderstood...MissAmerica

Ev and I loved attending Cassie’s second annual tongue in cheek Mommy Daughter Miss America Pageant Viewing Party.

This year we…
- adopted the persona of Miss Texas 1990 (My name is Freedom Butter and I’m from Butter, TX – which was named for my great great granddaddy General Butter, who weighed 450 pounds!) and ‘lil Miss Texas (Hi, my name is Liberty Butter and I’m from Butter, TX. Remember – everything’s better with butter!)

-tap danced while singing God Bless America for our talent and won best in show (in a very competitive line up of portrait artistry, quilting, tin foil sculpture, dramatic monologues, hands-free cherry stem tying, and my favorite - Cassie singing White Christmas’s beloved duet ‘Sisters’ with her twin sister…a sock puppet.)

Evening wear was non-eventful, interviews were hysterical, and the metallic pipe cleaner crown went to…..Cassie’s deserving daughter Lorien, Miss Rhode Island!
